‘Thor’s Well’ – Oregon’s Stunning Giant Sinkhole
|MessageToEagle.com – A gaping sinkhole called ‘Thor’s Well’ is located at Cape Perpetua, on the edge of the Oregon coast.
‘Thor’s Well’ is approximately 20 feet deep hole in the rocks off a rough stretch of the Oregon coastline in the US.
Also known as the drainpipe of the Pacific, the well never seems to fill despite the unbroken and powerful stream of seawater that drains into it.

It’s most spectacular at high tide and during winter storms when water washes violently over the rocks (waves can reach a height of 20 feet high) and falls back through the hole.
Undoubtedly, Thor’s Well is a natural wonder but a dangerous one, especially when unsuspecting visitors get to close to the sinkhole and immediately run the risk of being swept right into the maelstrom, with no chance to survive.

Thor’s Well – also known as ‘Spouting Horn’ – is certainly the appropriate name for this powerful nature phenomenon.
The legend of Thor’s hammer must have influenced the person who gave the well its name.
Thor is one of the most important and well-known Norse gods. He is the god of thunder with a powerful hammer weapon capable to destroy Thor’s enemies and protect humans and other gods in trouble from the giants who roamed the earth.
