Seychelles Islands Are Sinking And Will Soon Disappear Underwater
MessageToEagle.com – The beautiful Seychelles Islands are a group of 115 breathtaking islands in the Indian Ocean, off the coast of Kenya. This almost magical place has often been compared with the Garden of Eden.
But we won’t be able to admire the beauty of the islands for much longer. Unfortunately, the islands might soon be gone. Climate changes related to problems such rising sea levels are resulting in devastating coral die off.
This is the cause why Seychelles Islands are sinking and will soon disappear underwater.

Dozens of the Seychelles’ coral outer islands are uninhabited but are important habitats for birds and marine life. If the sea-level rise continues unchecked, those islands could soon be underwater. Global warming is also contributing to a rise in sea temperatures, which is having a devastating effect on marine ecosystems.

In 2010, Ronald Jumeau, the Seychelles ambassador to the UN, stated that he doesn’t know what the country should fear most – the death of corals which will result in so much erosion that the islands will be literally swept away or the steadily rising sea level which will simply “drown” everything. As it stands, it is only a question of what is going to get them first.
Areas that were covered with trees are now beaches, the trees toppled by the ever advancing waves.
There are about 85,000 people live in the Seychelles, the vast majority on Mahé, the largest of the 115 islands.
Locals are noticing their beaches shrinking, tourists cramming into smaller and smaller areas as the land continues to disappear beneath the approaching water.
Other island countries are also concerned with the rising sea level such as the Maldives, the Seychelles’ Indian Ocean neighbor.
It is just a matter of time before the beautiful Seychelles Islands are gone.
