There is evidence the Americas had been visited by numerous other ancient civilizations long before Columbus accidentally stumbled upon the New World that was already inhabited. How many ancient civilizations reached the container before Columbus and his crew is challenging to say. Still, many researchers suggest among them were the Vikings, Chinese, Phoenicians, and probably the Celts.

Did ancient Romans also cross the ocean and reach the shores of America some 2,000 years before Christopher Columbus?
